On the Road to Success!

By Elizabeth Bryant, College Adviser at Louisburg High School | February 16, 2017

Louisburg High School Seniors are on the road to success! Recently, Larry Wilson and Elizabeth City State University Admissions Counselor admitted six of our Seniors on the spot! He was able to meet one-on-one with 15 of our Seniors, and advise them on the best path to success. Elizabeth City State University, along with Western Carolina University, and University of North Carolina Pembroke, will be reducing their in-state tuition to $500 a semester, starting Fall 2018. This is a result of the North Carolina Promise Tuition Plan, and their mission of increasing access to a quality university education.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to pursue an affordable education.

Following the on-site admissions event, Louisburg High School hosted their annual Financial Aid Workshop in the school library. Ms. Vickie Watkins, Vance-Granville Community College’s Financial Aid Rep was present and extremely helpful in assisting Ms. Bryant the Louisburg High School College Adviser, guide participating parents through the Financial Aid Application process. The night was a great success, and many FAFSA’s were completed. It is vital to the success of the students that they are not only admitted but provided an affordable path to acquiring their degree. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff, and our brilliant students!

GO WARRIORS!
