Tara was born and raised in Bladen County and attended West Bladen High School. After graduating, she attended Appalachian State University, where she majored in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and minored in American Sign Language. Tara is more than excited to return back to the school she graduated from to give back to her county. Tara is excited to show students that no matter where you come from, it’s only about where you are going. Not only that, Tara hopes to serve as an example for students to show them that it is also okay to come back home after leaving.
