Dr. Nicole Ditillo serves as the Program Director for the NC State College Advising Corps. After completing her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, Nicole served as a college adviser with the Pennsylvania College Advising Corps in rural Huntingdon County, PA. Nicole’s experience as a college adviser ignited her passion for college access, and led her to pursue her graduate studies in Higher Education at NC State University. She completed her doctoral degree in Educational Research and Policy Analysis at NC State, studying college persistence among rural college students. In both her work and research, Nicole continues to strive towards enhancing educational opportunities for rural, low-income, and underrepresented populations.
Amira Alexander serves as the Assistant Program Director for the NC State College Advising Corps. A native of Cabarrus County, Amira obtained her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Science from NC State with a minor in Extension Education. While there, she researched the effects of marketing strategies on low wealth children and spent time abroad in Costa Rica exploring food security and sustainability. As an NC State College Advising Corps Alumna, Amira cultivated her belief in educational access and equity through creating a college ambassador program and building relationships with local college access organizations.
